Preparing for a practical—and more importantly, understanding the science behind it—is essential to delivering high-quality learning experiences. Technicians play a vital role in supporting teaching by providing scientific explanations, theoretical background, health and safety expertise, and by adapting practical activities to suit learners’ needs.

Through thorough preparation and strong scientific understanding, technicians help spark curiosity, deepen knowledge, and inspire engagement in young people. This session explores practical preparation and development from a technician’s perspective, with the aim of strengthening support for teachers and enhancing the learning experiences of young people.
